Cardiopulmonary Services

Jacksonville Medical Center's Cardiopulmonary Services is designed to help patients with heart and lung disease recover quicker and return to full and productive lives.

Emergency Services

The Emergency Department at Jacksonville Medical Center provides immediate evaluation of acute medical conditions and trauma to adult and pediatric patients 24 hours a day.

Our services include trauma and cardiac life support, as well as minor emergency care. Consultations with medical and surgical specialties are also available. The Emergency Department is comprised of nine rooms, including one trauma room, one Ob/Gyn room and one pediatric room.

We also provide you with the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies. Our ER is equipped to handle your emergency. We even have smaller scale equipment that is tailored to meet the needs of our pediatric patients. So even if you are not ready for an emergency, we are. Our team of experienced ER physicians specialize in emergency care. With our physicians, each patient will receive personable and expert care.

Intensive Care Unit

Jacksonville Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit consists of over 125 years of skilled nursing experience. Our ICU Department is technically equipped with newly renovated rooms with a spacious nurses station that oversees each ICU bed at all times. Each room is fully equipped to monitor and respond to the needs of the critical care patient.

Laboratory

The Laboratory Department is comprised of technologists, technicians, and phlebotomists which operate a variety of high tech, state of the art equipment. At Jacksonville Medical Center, every tech masters all components in each department of the Lab. This allows our Laboratory great flexibility.

The Laboratory staff at Jacksonville Medical Center provides a full service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Lab offers two external collection sights. One sight is located inside the Jacksonville Mediplex building. The other sight is located in Piedmont at the office of Dr. Dorothy Nelder. The Lab offers hundreds of lab tests for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients. The Lab works closely with virtually every department in the hospital.

Physical Therapy

At Jacksonville Medical Center, physical therapy is vital to our comprehensive plan for patients who are physically limited due to an accident, illness, handicap, or injury.
 
Jacksonville Medical Center’s goal is to provide quality care with a comfortable and personal environment. Our physical therapist offers a one-on-one approach with every patient and gives a thorough evaluation with treatment plans and goals established with each patient’s needs. Our top priority is to aid patients into a quick recovery.

Radiology Services

The Radiology Department at Jacksonville Medical Center provides high quality diagnostic services. Staffed by a board certified radiologist and highly qualified, credentialed technical staff, the department provides a complete line of specialty services to the community and the physicians in the area.

Jacksonville Medical Center is staffed with a highly, qualified, nationally board certified, credentialed Mammography Technologist. JMC offers every woman the new Mammo-Pad: a soft foam pad that provides cushion between you and the mammography machine. Mammograms provide comfort for an entire lifetime.

Senior Care Unit

The Senior Care Unit at Jacksonville Medical Center specializes in treating older individuals that experience serious behavior or emotional problems. It provides an inpatient holistic care program designed to meet the needs of older adults.

Families are an integral part of the treatment plan. The Senior Care Unit will provide support, education, and practical solutions to help face the struggles of the aging process. Customized treatment is delivered by a caring and experienced multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, nurse technicians, social workers, and activity coordinators.

The SCU offers comprehensive assessment, individualizing treatment planning, and a full continuum of behavior health services. Designed for patients and their families, this inpatient program is provided in a confidential, comfortable, and caring setting for mental health care.

Women’s Services

Special delivery best describes our obstetrics program at Jacksonville Medical Center. The arrival of a new family member is regarded with the level of thoughtful, compassionate care deserving of one of life's most blessed events. Upon admittance, the hospital offers labor rooms in a home-like, relaxing environment. New mothers can labor, deliver, and recover in one of the birthing rooms designed to enhance the birth experience. Behind the scenes, advanced fetal and maternal monitoring equipment checks the condition of both mother and infant throughout the birth process, ensuring health and safety.

Prenatal Classes

Children’s Services
Jacksonville Medical Center's Pediatrics Unit is kid friendly. Our Pediatric and Newborn Nursery staff is Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Pediatric Advance Life Support certified.

Diabetic Education Classes

Education Services
Education courses are being offered at Jacksonville Medical Center. JMC provides training to further educate nurses, physicians, EMS members, and other professional staff. Volunteer Services
Jacksonville Medical Center’s volunteers contribute many hours of service and financial assistance to the facility. They supplement the services of the hospital staff in many ways and can be identified by their name tags.

Jacksonville Medical Center’s volunteers are located at the front entrance of the facility. They welcome our visitors with a warm greeting and offer assistance to each visitor if needed. The volunteers provide a variety of assistance to the patients and visitors at Jacksonville Medical Center. They personally deliver letters, packages, flowers, and newspapers to patients each morning. 
 
The volunteers operate Jacksonville Medical Center's gift shop, Endless Treasures (which is located at the front entrance). Gift items, greeting cards, and snacks are available in the gift shop. Endless Treasures is open from 8:30 a.m.until 4:30 p.m.
